Onslow County SIRT provides information to the public in order to help the members of the community better prepare themselves for emergencies, disasters and destructive weather.  With hurricane season beginning in just a few weeks - hurricane season is from June 1st through Novemeber 30th - it is imperative that each individual develop a plan in case a violent storm hits the area.

Planned/Scheduled Missions:
Requests for SIRT participation in planned or scheduled missions and events are coordinated through the SIRT Commander.  Contact Phil Molloy at:

Crisis/Emergency Missions:
If there is a crisis or emergency that requires Onslow County SIRT's capabilities, you may request our response through the following channels:
 - Local (Onslow County): Call 911
 - Outside Onslow County: Coordinate response through your local Emergency Management

Command Unit Request:
If your department or organization requires the scheduled use of the MCTFER Command and Communications Unit, submit the following form to the Onslow County EOC:

                 SIRT Membership

If you would like to join our organization, the first step is to fill out an application and obtain your North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) records check.

Membership Application:
Fill out the below application and bring it to a SIRT business meeting (the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Onslow County EOC - see our "News & Calendar" page).

Follow the instructions on the bottom of Page 2 for payment ($10) and mailing information:

Tax Deduction:
Because SIRT is an emergency services organization, members that meet specific criteria are entitled to a North Carolina tax deduction of $250.
